[sæl'dænjə beɪ], Bucht an der Westküste der Republik Südafrika, 110 km nordwestlich von Kapstadt. Der hervorragende Naturhafen, wegen Mangels an Trinkwasser lange nicht genutzt, wurde nach Bau von Verladeanlagen und einer Eisenbahnlinie (861 km) nach Sishen 1977 für den Export von Eisen- und Manganerzen in Betrieb genommen; er ist der größte Hafen an der Westküste Afrikas. Neben Fischerei und Fischindustrie hat die Zucht von Muscheln und Austern in der Bucht wirtschaftliche Bedeutung. Der Ort Saldanha, an der Nordwestküste der Bucht, ist seit 1975 Teil der Gemeinde Vredenburg-Saldanha. Der südliche Teil der Bucht, die Langebaan-Lagune, gehört seit 1985 zum West Coast National Park.
